Choosing a Service Format That Actually Fits

A focused blog post built around practical decisions and constraints.

When you need technical support for composite panels, the format of the service matters as much as the expertise behind it. A mismatch between what you need and how it is delivered can waste time and budget.

Three common service formats

Over the past years, we have seen clients benefit from three distinct approaches. Each one fits a different situation.

On-site review

A technician visits your facility, inspects the production line, and discusses adjustments directly with your team. Best for process troubleshooting or when a new resin system is being introduced.

Lab-based testing

You send samples to our lab. We run flexural strength, swelling, and density tests. You receive a detailed report with data and recommendations. Ideal for quality control or material validation.

Remote consultation

A scheduled video call where we review your data, discuss a specific problem, and propose next steps. Good for quick assessments or when travel is not feasible.

How to decide

The right format depends on the stage of your project. If you are developing a new board formulation, lab testing gives you hard numbers. If your production line is running but results are inconsistent, an on-site review can identify the variable. For a single question about a test result, a remote call is often enough.

“We started with a remote consultation to understand our swelling issue. That led to sending samples for lab testing. The combination solved the problem in three weeks.”

Tradeoffs to consider

On-site visits provide context but require scheduling and travel costs. Lab testing is precise but takes a few days for results. Remote calls are fast but limited by what you can show on camera. None is universally better. The key is matching the format to the question you are trying to answer.

If you are unsure which format fits your current situation, we can discuss it briefly before committing to a full engagement. That conversation itself is free.
