When a client reaches out for the first time, the conversation often starts with a general question about particleboard testing or material selection. Without a clear picture of the production line, the resin type, or the panel dimensions, it is difficult to give a precise answer. That is why we ask for a few details before the meeting.
First, it helps to know the target application. A board meant for interior furniture has different requirements than one exposed to occasional humidity. Second, the press cycle parameters — temperature, pressure, and time — directly affect density distribution and mechanical properties. Third, the resin formulation (urea-formaldehyde, melamine-urea, or others) changes the swelling behavior and the internal bond strength.
We also recommend preparing a small set of samples if possible. A single panel of 300 x 300 mm is enough to run a preliminary flexural test and a 24-hour immersion test. With those results, we can identify the main variables to adjust in the next production run.
The goal of the first consultation is to define the scope: what needs to be measured, under which standard (UNE-EN, ASTM, or ISO), and what acceptance criteria apply. Once that is clear, the next steps become straightforward.
